Perhaps acid or sewage waste on dogs skin?

My dog some times gets out of the gate. This last time I think someone threw acid or something on him because his skin is serverly infected with sores and what looks like burns with open skin. The part that I am most concerned about has a gooey texture to it. I have shaved him washed him and put on a dog topical cream but everything you put on it gets gooey and the skin itself its just horrible on that spot. What can I do, I can't really afford a vet. is there anything else I can do? I think it could be something like battery acid or sewage.

Perhaps acid or sewage waste on dogs skin?
Please try contacting a local SPCA and ask about low cost Vet treatment. OR, call some Vets and ask for Vet treatment in exchange for cleaning kennels or something because this dog seriously needs Vet care.

Many of the spay and neuter clinics provide lower cost Vet care.

Also, to prevent this sort of thing from happening, you have to see if there are resources to get help to secure your yard better so your dog is not getting out. Very sorry to hear about your dog's problems, but just like with a child, your dog needs YOU to take him to a Vet when sick like he is!

As hard as it may be to do, if you can't get professional help for him or get assistance to provide it, maybe you can contact a rescue org. in your area and see if they can help with this dog. Most likely they won't because even they need money to provide for the dogs they take in. But working for a Vet might be a possible route for helping your dog.
Reply:If you can't afford the vet then you have no business having a pet. Add that to the fact that your dog "sometimes gets out the gate" - how? Dogs don't have opposable thumbs - he can't open it. So obviously it's not closing properly - SO FIX IT! Letting your dog run loose is not only dangerous for the dog but illegal. Please surrender this poor dog to a shelter so that someone more responsible can adopt it.

Thanks for the nasty email. I stand by what I say. It's up to you to protect your pet and you're failing miserably! As for your comment in the email about how you "saved" this dog from euthanasia. Saved? At least then he wouldn't be suffering - like he is now in your hands.
