Dry skin type of condition?

ever since i was a little kid i have had this problem with my skin where it gets wrinkly dry spots and if i dont treat them they turn red and have flaky skin on them and at the worse they bleed. I dont think its psoriasis or eczema it just seems like dry skin. I went to a dermatologist and he said that its not fungus or anything and he did not really have a name for it. If I put hydrocortizone ointment or cream on it, it gets a little bit better from what seems like being moisturized. I have tried all types of cream like aquaphor and cocoa butter and hydrocortizone but it can only make it a little better and can never cure the patches. At best they become invisible to the eye and I can only barely feel that the skin is dry there. The dry patches seem to go away on their own and appear elsewhere sometimes over the course of a couple of months. What the hell is this and have you ever encountered anything like it and how could i treat it? ty all

THE BEST THING YOU CAN USE IS 100% PURE SHEA BUTTER. Shea butter is better then most steroid creams MANY people tell me.

I have many people swear by it .Everyone from 5 years old to 88 with skin problems from psoriasis , eczema ,DRY SKIN , SUN BURN........Hope this helps.

A LITTLE ABOUT SHEA BUTTER

Shea Butter (Karite)

Shea butter comes from Africa and is found along the West African Savannah region. Karite takes about 40 to 50 years to mature. It is an amazing skin-soothing agent for makers of soap, particularly when blended with lather-generating coconut oil. Shea butter helps increase local capillary circulation, which in turn increases tissue re-oxygenation and improves the elimination of metabolic waste products.
Reply:It sure sounds like excema to me! Check out this site and see if sounds like familiar.

It could be seborrheic dermatitis depending on where it is.
Reply:I have a similiar problem with the skin on my arms. It is dry and skaly and bleeds if I am not careful when I scratch it. I sometimes use Bag Balm. You can get it at Walgreens or Wal-Mart etc it comes in a green can. Ignore what it says on the can for it's intended use. Be generous with it. I also use Oil of Olay body wash shower moisturizer both in the shower and just as a body lotion. It is wonderful and I use it as an all over body lotion. Careful not to get it in your eyes. It also works really well in place of chap stick. Let me know how it works for you. It's also great as a moisturizer around the eyes for crows feet. It works better for me than Mary Kay
