Honey and Milk

Seriously
Reply:1. exfoliating is good, but don't overdo it.

2. take vitamin E pills

3. use a thick body cream every time you get out of the shower- shea butter, cetaphill lotion, bath and body works body butters, and aquaphor have worked the best for me

(aquaphor is pretty slimy, alot like vasaline, but it is SO worth it!)
Reply:West African shea butter or East African shea butter which is easier to spread also Tanzanian baobab oil.
Reply:I have found that the best way to help extremely dry skin is to use Aveeno Baby Zinc Oxide diaper-rash cream. It is scentless, very thick and soothing, and the zinc oxide works the same way that the Pyrithione zinc in dandruff shampoo does. Just slather it on before you go to bed, and after a few days you should see a difference. It is especially effective for dry skin caused by the winter weather. Also, a thick cream lotion for throughout the day, like Cetaphil, would help. Don't over-do the exfoliating, it will just make your skin worse. Good luck!
Reply:Glycerine works wonders also try almond oil, best to put it on when skin is damp ok. Get a good vitamin. Dry skin can be also cause by an imbalance in the body, something the body is lacking
Reply:I also have severely dry skin. I've had it forever...it always gets worse during the winter. These are the steps I take to find some comfort:

1) Only take lukewarm showers/baths. It sucks if you like the hot water, but water sucks moisture out of your skin.

2) When you do take a shower/bath, use Cetaphil to cleanse, its unscented and really easy on your skin.

3) Exfoliate, but not roughly, only lightly rub some exfoliator on your skin for a minute or so (I like St. Ives).

4) When you get out of the shower or bath, rub body oil all over your body before toweling off. This gives your skin a chance to keep in any moisture it got in the shower. You can use Baby Oil too, it just doesn't work as well as Body Oil because of the mineral oil in it.

5) Before bed, slather some Eucerin on your body and then cover up with some long pajama pants and a long sleeved shirt. (Eucerin is a little less slimy than Aquafor) It will soak in during the night.

6) Apply lotion throughout the day. If you can get a hold of some 12% Lactic Acid lotion, you will pretty much be cured as long as you're using it, if not, I recommend St. Ives again (Mineral Therapy is my favorite). Has done wonders for me over the years.

I know it might sound gross, but try to only shower every other day. Too much exposure to water will dry your skin out.
Reply:I have the same problem and I found a whole bunch of home remedies that work great. I will send you the links look at all of them they have a lot of informatioon for you. One of the links is for a mask you can make and apply at home.

There is also a quiz to see what your skin type is (besides just dry).

Good luck with eveything

Peace
