When will pale skin be IN?

I love my skin. I began appreciating it because people kept complimented me a lot about my face being so clear and acne free. I’ve done simple things to take care of it for years now. I use moisturizer everyday about 3 times per day. I try not to be on the sun unless I need to. I wear 50 SPF sun block everyday on summers. I use the L’Oreal anti wrinkle cream for men for 2 years already. I use the Nivea cream for men for puffiness under the eyes. I think it shows because no one believes I’m 25.

Because I avoid the sun, I have a very pale color, which to me it’s healthy because I know my skin is well taken care of. I see people who tan, and I see damaged skin. Why is tanned supposed to be healthy? It’s actually damaged by sun.

When is taking care of your skin going to be the new fad?

When will pale skin be IN?
I have a friend who has used moisturizers and such for years. When he started, he had to use whatever was in the medicine cabinet because there were no such products aimed at men. He started in his late teens and is now in his late 40's. He looks about 30. Keep up the good work. It will show in time and you'll look younger than everyone else your age.

I also have extremely pale skin. "Pasty white chick" is what I call myself but the truth is I think it is better to be what you are than to try to use chemicals to cover it up. I am 36 and I never used foundation or face powder and very little other cosmetics. I look pretty darn good, even if I do say so myself. Everyone thinks my 10 year old son is my little brother. It's great. He loves the look on his friends faces when he says, "No, that's my mom."

Natural is in right now (hurray for those of us who have persevered) Look how pale Scarlett Johansen is, for example.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Another week and something else will be in style.
Reply:actually the new trend is your natural skin. no one on the red carpet wears the fake tanner anymore. appreciate your skin for what it is. check out pictures of the latest red carpet events!
Reply:I have pale skin to and some people are like tanning bed crazy i would not lay in a tanning bed they are bad bad for skin and so is to much sun why cant people just be happy.but i love the color of my skin and its nice to see a guy who really takes care of him self
Reply:I have very fair skin too and take care of it. I've learned to accept that that's just who I am and to love myself for it. My grandmother and mother also had very light skin and their skin looked beautiful as they aged because they took care of it. So you'll have the last laugh in the end.
Reply:GOOD FOR YOU! 'Pale skin' may never be a 'fad' in your lifetime ... but your 'lifetime' will probably be a lot longer and you'll both look better and be healthier because you have 'pale skin' and take care of yourself. And if you 'look different' that's a GOOD THING because it helps you stand out in a crowd!
Reply:When they start getting some years on them and seeing those leathery wrinkles! By then though, there will probably be a fix for that also. I'm light complected and my friends used to tell me to "turn off my legs", because the sun shined off of them and was blinding... My wrinkles will be from life- laughter and stress. When people are younger, they just don't think about how what they do now affects them later (me included sometimes).
Reply:Your doing thr right thing all these young hot looking 18 to what 27 are all about the tan sure thier hot now but wait till there in ther 30's it's not going to be hot any morei dont tan but i do use a bronzer.
Reply:people like the golden glow. some people associate pale skin with not eating right. When i am tan people compliment me but when i don't get any sun i go pale and people always ask me whats wrong with me, if i am sick so yea. I don't have to go to a tanning bed or stay in the sun long to get tan, just ten minutes in the sun so i don't think it is unhealthy but the people that have to go to tanning beds often DO look unhealthier than most people. They tend to have lots of wrinkles! So I say, just stick to whatever works for your skin. If u can tan easily without having to go to a bed then i don't think that is bad but if u are spending every other day in a tanning bed then thats a problem, its gross and unhealthy. They will see the results when they are in their late 20s
Reply:It looks really passe and pedestrian to have a tan, so you are already in fashion. Only sorority girls and porn stars tan these days. You are on track, don't worry. Everybody who knows anything about anything is using sunscreen.
Reply:hmm i dont know if it will ever be in but why follow trends! i do sometime but thats cuz i personally like some things. dont worry about it being a fad be d ifferent! tanned isnt suppposed to be healthy, just better looking. but more and more people are becoming more aware of the dangers of tanning so maybe it possible fair skin will become a fad
Reply:Pale skin will be in "when the world goes Goth". Good for you for taking care of your skin. While you may be avoiding damage by staying out of the sun, keep in mind that you may be doing damage with all the chemicals you're treating it with.

I have an aunt who went to tanning salons, and used rub on tanning solution for years. She now closely resembles a pleather couch.
Reply:I'm 40 years old, and in all those years, pale skin has never been in. I don't think it ever will be. I have never been big on tanning. For what it's worth, I am told all the time how I look so much younger than I actually am. Taking care of your skin will always be a fad of sorts. A lot of people want a clear complexion, but they want that tan to go with it. They will someday pay for all the excessive tanning. Make friends with the skin you're in. You work hard to be healthy. Be proud of that!

I'm Black. How can you get rid of dark skin from under my arms and around my neck?

When I was younger I had a bad rash under my arms. It left the skin under my arms very dark. It has lightened up since then but it is dark enough to leave me self conscious about wearing sleeveless shirts. I also have dark skin around my neck. I don't know how that happened. Is there a cream or something I can use that actually WORKS. I tried cocoa butter and a lot of expensive creams but nothing has helped. I think it is ligtening on it's own over time but I would like to get rid of it now.

Also, I have a child. During my pregnancy I occured a lot of stretch marks on my stomach. I really miss my cute stomach. Is there a cream that actually WORKS to get rid of stretch marks. I have tried a lot of cremes for this also but none worked.

If all else fails, I'm thinking about saving up for a trip to the plastic surgeon. It really bothers me that my skin is so flawed when it was once beautiful. Please Help.

I'm Black. How can you get rid of dark skin from under my arms and around my neck?
Are you exfoliating regularly? I have a friend who is African American, and her skin while still dark, is a lot lighter than that of the other women in her family. The other women get ashy, and they have to exfoliate. Because of her skin tone, dead skin shows up not as ashy but as darker patches. She uses a good exfoliant regularly, followed by a deep moisturizing cream. All the moisturizers in the world won't help your dark patches if there's a serious buildup of dead skin on there.

Start out with a gentle exfoliant, such as St. Ives Apricot scrub, and see if that helps. You may need a stronger formulation, or a chemical exfoliant, such as an AHA cream, if you have a serious build up of dead cells. Exfoliating agents take off the dead layer of stuff on top, so they won't hurt your skin tone or bleach it out. Also, since the top layer of skin is always dying, you need to continue to exfoliate regularly if you find that is the problem.

As for your stretch marks, I have heard various things from various friends. The best remedy, it seems, is a good moisturizer and time. Take good care of your skin, and it should return to normal. The only one of my friends whose tummy didn't return to normal gained an exceptionally large amount of weight with her pregnancy (85 lbs.), and even her marks are so faded that you have to look carefully to see them.

I have provided a link below to my favorite online drugstore. Even if you don't buy there, you can look at products and get ideas about what does what. Everything is divided into sections for quick and painless browsing, and there are good descriptions for every product.

Good luck!
Reply:I'm white, so I really have no idea. However, I would go to a dermatologist and get their expert opinion. They're the ones with the medical background and training and can obviously help you more than me. Hopefully, you'll have beautiful skin again! Good luck!

Do you know of a cream that is really effective in removing dark spots in the face?

i have very sensitive skin. sometimes, i have pimples even after the first application of a cream.

Do you know of a cream that is really effective in removing dark spots in the face?
They make skin lightening creams that they sell at wallgreens and such but none of them work effectively. Try going to the dermatologist for something that is really going to get rid of the dark spots.
Reply:There's a lot of whitening cream you can use. I know a cream that is really effective in whitening scars and dark spots. I do not know if you have it in your country. It is called "cebo de macho".

Lightening cream in patches?

if you use a lightening cream for dark spot and discoloration, is it normal if it lightens your skin in patches, or is it meant to be so slow you dont notice at all

Lightening cream in patches?
It should not make light patches on your skin. I use some lightening cream for my face and it works gradually. You will see some changes in your skin in time.
Reply:It should lighten evenly if you are using it all over your face. You will get a "halo" effect around the dark spot if you are only treating the spot. Is the product hydroquinone?

Skin problem!!!?

my forehead gets really oily because of my spots so i use a shine control moistouriser. if i don't moistourise then my forehead gets really dry and flakey but still the shine control moistouriser doesn't get rid of the flakey skin and it is still quite oily. when i use a normal face cream, it looks like i've slapped on baby oil on my forehead. i'm really stuck. can anybody suggest what i can use to help my forehead.

p.s the rest of my face is normal but very dry around my mouth. thnx

Skin problem!!!?
you should go to boots and ask for shine control paper, the paper will suck up all that excess oil from your skin. also try changing your diet by eating more healthy.
Reply:There's a product on the market called "Ketsugo". It was originally made from sharks liver oil after someone noticed that Japanese fishermen had very clear skin (this really is true!!). It is now made using a man made so no sharks get killed! Basically it controls the sebaceous gland (which produces oil) and thus prevents spots. Give it a try, i costs about £12 and you can get it from Super drug.
Reply:do u have skin problem http://www.skincarefairy.com
Reply:I had the same problem as you. You should go on this website http://cgarcia1.qbeautyzone.com If you don't like the product you get your money back if you return the item half used or all gone within 180 days that you purchased it. You need to microderm your face. Use the at home microdermabrasion system. This scrubs off flaky skin (dead skin cells). Makes your pores smaller and tighter which means the smaller the pores the harder for dirt to get in and oil to get out. Use this twice a week and I guarantee you this will work. You also want to use the pore cleansing mask this cleans your pore deep inside and also use this twice a week. Moisturizer is great but make sure you also clean your face with the right kind of formula that's right for your skin make sure the formula is for oily skin type of people and try not to touch your face so much you're only transferring more oil to your face from your hands. Good luck. email me if you need anymore questions.

La Mer face cream, is it worth buying? It will be winter soon and Im looking for a really face cream so?
La Mer is very nice - I've used it a lot but honestly I can't say that it's the holy grail of face creams. Yes, it's gotten a lot of press but you are looking for a good face cream - that will moisturize. I think then it depends on what else you want it to do - anti aging, etc. La Prairie is an excellent brand (I'm not specifically quoting a cream because there are several - each does something else). There are also the cosmesceuticals which are less expensive but really good!

Both La Mer/La Prairie are excellent and there are a lot of others also out there. I prefer La Prairie because it has additional benefits: my advice - go to the high-end shops and get samples. You should be able to get several tries out of each - if you are going to invest in a great skin cream, it's good to take it for a test spin!
Reply:Well i don't know about the La mer creme, but i use coconut oil on my face and body to moisturize. It is sooo hydrating and makes your skin feel so subtle and soft. I highly recommend. The best quality is organic coconut oil. It has no specific smell so its great! It comes in a solid form. Coconut oil has many health benefits as well.

How to even out skin?

i'm a teen and my mom isnt really all for makeup... i've actually had to hide a few of the more major things i've bought, like eyeliner and bronzer. so, whats the best way to make my skin appear smooth, bright, and nourished? inexpensive creams, treatments, or anything... i know there's always foundation, so what are some good, reliable brands that work well and don't cost a lot? or even any other make-up tips to make my skin seem clearer-- like emphasizing a part of my face. any suggestions appreciated.

How to even out skin?
Tinted moisturiser is a moisturiser with a little colour added. it's the sheerest of all the foundations, so your mom won't be able to tell your wearing make up. And it also evens out skin tone.
Reply:True Match, bye Loreal, works really well. But, if impossible to get. heres a mixture from Beauty Magazine.

Mix: 1/2 cup of green tea

vanilla yogurt,

lemon juice

almond extract

and cucumbers

blend until smooth, while adding honey.

Place mixture on your face, or problem areas for 5-9 min. no less or more. Than, wash gently off with warm water and blot with towel.

Hope this helps =)
Reply:I LOVE Mary Kay's foundation! It's 14 dollars but lasts about 6 Months! A little goes a long way, its smooth, and non transferable! So if you hug him or it rains your face doesnt come off! Good Luck

Alcohol in face cream?

seeing as most alcohol based colognes/perfumes dry out the skin, would the same apply to face creams and so called moisturizers which all seem to contain alcohol?

Alcohol in face cream?
Yes, and believe it or not all that contain a mineral oil or petroleum actually dry you out too - so read labels.

So clueless when it comes to skin care, PLEASE HELP!?

I am 29, but dont look it i still often get ID for alcohol, anyways as i am well on my way to 30 yrs, so i wanted to start a new skin care regime...

I am not positive what i need, the only things i noticed is the need for pore tightening, and i have a very slight variance in skin tones (freckles, faint pinker areas) i am concerned about starting something for wrinkles as well.

right now i only use dove brightening moisturizer, and dive nightime cream.

What would you recommend to use daily for tightening pores evening skin tones, and future wrinkle defense?

also is it ok to mix brands ie, morning use avenno product for tightening, something else for evening skint one etc...?

thanx a bunch!

So clueless when it comes to skin care, PLEASE HELP!?
It's always great to be thinking ahead. A regime with pure and natural products helps tremendously - although most skin care is personal - I do suggest Arbonne. They make 3 regimes.

One for acne

One for 16-29 year olds

and another for 29+ the re9.

I have the best skin I ever had since plunging. It's not cheap but it's rewarding to have glowing skin (I am 39) and using botanical based products.
Reply:I always recommend Biore products to everyone. They are absolutely the best.

I use these products twice a day:

-Pore minimizing foaming face wash

-Pore minimizing lightweight moisturizer

Once a week:

-Deep cleansing pore strips

Take a look at their website, I'm sure you'll find something that satisfies your needs... And by the way, all of Biore's products smell amazing!
Reply:I am 28 years old and still look young too....But that's a GOOOOOOD thing!!!! You should use Arbonne. They have all kinds of skin care products and things for wrinkles, etc. Plus the products do not have mineral oil, fragrances and have never been tested on animals. They are wonderful products.
Reply:make sure to wash your face everyday %26amp; wear sun screen when you go out to prevent any sun damage. the uneven skin tones can easily be covered up by using a very light powder foundation. don't use too much just enough to even out the skin tone. stick to natural products when wanting to take care of your skin. if you want to mix brands be VERY careful cause it can cause a bad reaction on your skin since there might be chemicals..so i wouldn't suggest you do that. good luck !
Reply:I would go to a place with a skin consultant and get some advice. Some places like Estee Lauder, Lancome, etc., will give you a free facial and give you ideas as to what you need to do. Tell them what your concerns are and what you would like to do with your face.
Reply:I'm 33 and began using the anti-aging line from Arbonne about 2 years ago. The serum will help with skin healthy cell turnover, increase moisture retention, and help smooth out fine lines %26amp; wrinkles. The serum comes in a 6-step system and when used together yields maximum results. I'd also recommend the Deep pore masque or Thermal fusion masque - great for the pores! PM me if you want details!
Reply:Hi! I'm a Mary Kay consultant so I'm a little biased on products, but I did use other brands prior to becoming a MK consulant...with that said...yes it does matter if you're mixing brands. Most companies formulate their skin care products to work together. Our TimeWise anti-aging products are the #1 skin care products in the USA (study done by an independent company not by MK). I absolutely love these products b/c they're simple to use and they also provide the anti-aging ingredients as well. I'm in my 30's and I get asked what grade I'm in all the time! I've used MK for 8 years. :-) You can find a consultant in your area or I'd be happy to mail you samples of our TW line in your skin type. Just let me know. Feel free to email me at stephsmk@yahoo.com
Reply:Try Microderm Abrassion:

Microderm Abrasion helps you achieve:

smoother-looking skin

minimized appearance of pores and age spots

balanced appearance of pigment irregularities

reduced appearance of acne scars

reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

restored youthful, radiant glow

*Go to the website below.
Reply:I have to agree with the M/K lady...I'm a cosmetologist/make-up artist and I always recommend to my clients to stay within the same line...for optimum benefits. A line is meant to work together, and while you can get away with "cocktailing" products, (I mean, nothing horrific will happen) you won't get as good of benefits as you would staying within the same line.

I really recommend the Rodan %26amp; Fields line. It's a cosmeceutical line created by dermatologists. It has a perfect blend of medicines and botanicals. They have several regimens, but from what you're describing, it sounds as if you could benefit from the Reverse regimen, or the Anti-Aging regimen. Anyone over 25 should be on an anti-aging regimen! Their website is www.rodanandfields.com good luck...Happy cleansing!

What Is "Bleaching Cream"?

What is bleaching cream? I heard alot of people are using it to make their skin lighter.

Is this harmful? How does it work? And where can you get it?

What Is "Bleaching Cream"?
Bleaching creams remove pigment from the skin particularly in areas that are freckled or dark. The best bleaching agent is hydroquinone. It is available OTC up to 2% strength and at 4% strength through a dermatologist. While these bleaching creams do work once you stop using them/get sun exposure the results disappear. It is being debated right not whether to pull these products off the shelves due to a possible cancer risk.
Reply:Not their skin, their unwanted facial hair. It lightens your facial hair to match your skin tone. It is harmless, and it doesn't hurt at all. I use it for my facial hair, and I like it a lot because it really works.

How can i make my skin lighter?

I have tan skin that is pretty light. But it always gets really dark in the pring and summer. And it gets lighter again in the winter. Well, spring just started and I am running track. Therefore, I am out in the sun a lot and I have gotten A LOT darker. I tan very easily and I really dont like how dark I have gotten. And I am going to keep getting darker until track is over. Then this summer I am supposed to travel to india and I am going to get a lot of comments on how dark my skin has gotten. I dont want this to happen. So, is there any cream I can use on my face to lighten it that is safe andn gives fast results. Or any lootion for my body? I use spf. 30 but it doesnt work and I think it makes my skin darker. I have also been putting lemon and honey n ym face for the past three days but haven't seen any results. What should I do?

How can i make my skin lighter?
Lemon seems to be the best thing to make skin fair, but only 3 days of using is not much, try this for facial, I have tried and found good, all from your kitchen. Take an egg, mix it with half tomatoe, 2 tbsp milk and mix well to make creamy, apply to face till the mixture dries on your face and your face feels tight, rinse with warm water. Do this once a month, you will gradually feel the difference.
Reply:you probably need a stronger SPF and you can put on a moisturizing lotion, that worked for me.
Reply:A stronger SPF should help. You must apply it though and continue applying every hour or so. Your sweat will wear the sunblock off and let the sun through. So several applications throughout the day can help. Can you wear a hat during track to keep the sun off your face? Go see a dermatologist too. They just might have the trick for the lightning.

If that doesn't work, see if you can get in touch with Michael Jackson - he obviously knows a trick! (JOKE)
Reply:You should use a stronger SPF when you run outside, and that will protect your skin a little better. Also Dove Brightening lotion is great to lighten your face, but not your body.
Reply:y don't u try to bleach ur skin?
Reply:Don't Be like Michael Jackson and Bleach your skin, but I would say for you to stay inside a cold place with no sun the whole summer. That's what I do because every year i get darker, and in my opinion lighter is better.

Stretch marks, and other skin questions...?

what is a good cream for stretch marks that works, and can be found at like a publix or cvs pharmacy? and also, i have this banana boat tanning cream that you rub on and you become tan, is it abd for your skin? what about jergens? i have the new jergens natural glow daily moisturizer stuff that makes you tan, does it work good, and is it bad for your skin?

Stretch marks, and other skin questions...?
Pure cocoa butter.I have 2 kids %26amp; you would'nt find a stretch mark on me.Honestly.I practically used to bathe in the stuff during %26amp; after pregnancy. : )
Reply:Co Co Butter Cream for stretch marks
Reply:cocoa butter that cream tan stuff is ugly for the skin it looks fake tan
Reply:You can fade stretch marks considerably, but nothing gets rid of them. Make a poultice of cold-pressed castor oil and wear for an hour, or pour 1/2 cup into bath water and soak, once a day.
Reply:I've used sunless tanners in the past and I dont think they are bad for your skin at all. I mean, hey at least its alot healthier than actually going out and getting a real tan which can be really painful and harmful. Those natural glow lotions are great too! And the best thing is they are good for your skin and moisturizing and also giving you some great color. And it seems to me that anything with cocoa butter should help with stretch marks. I think jergens actually has a cream especially for them. Just go down to your closest walmart or store and search around, they've gotta have something! And I would have to say good job on the sunless tanning, I tried to get an actual tan and now I am dearly paying the consequences!
Reply:every body has an elastic stretch of the skin, people who dont get stretch marks ,has enough elastic stretch, and they use all these so called prevention creams , and claim it works great, they are just some of the lucky ones, that have the elastic stretch ,most of us dont have enough, and we get stretch marks, some worse than others, ther is nothing you can do to prevent them ,or nothing to remove them. sure!! if you could afford surgery ,but nothing as simple as a cream.A cream called ,RETINOL-RETIN-A this is to reduce scares ,usually by a dermatoligist, but it costs 100.00 for a small tube ,its effects are not worth it,it might help if you had very small marks ,it peels you skin off a layer at a time, its main use is for acne scares, and about you self tan lotion ,it shouldnt damage your skin, but if you use it right ,it will give you a pretty glow, but its hard to use without getting to much in one spot, its a good replacement for the tanning bed and the dangerous rays of the sun. You can get a beautifull tan by using a tanning lotion with a lower amount of sunscreen,,people think because a tanning lotion has sunscreen in it ,you cant get a tan, this is not true ,just pick a lotion with enough sunscreen to keep you from burning ,it keeps out the harmfull rays ,and you will get a pretty tan and never be sunburned,i dont use sun screen ,i dont burn ,i just get red%26amp;it turns brown the next day,i have used lotion with a medium sunscreen i got a deep rich tan with out all of those harmfull rays from the sun,you can also use it in the tanning bed,i hope this helps ,research if in dought good luck with you efforts to take the best care of your skin,

I will tell you that I've tried it, and its really good, but to be honest with you not worth the money.

I switch between Philosophy's Hope in a Jar, in the Summer, and in the Winter I use Kiehl's moisturizer. Both are really good and not even close to the cost of La Mer.

Can a skin type change?

My skin has been oily all my life, but in the past month I think it has become drier, if nor dry. Everytime I apply cream it is immediately absorbed. That never happened, quite the contrary, I hated putting on cream because it would hardly go in.

I am 25. Isnt it a little too late for this changes?

My mom has very dry skin, my dad has oily skin.

Can a skin type change?
skin always changes but if your really concened about the changes happening to your skin consult your dermatologist.
Reply:I use to have very oily skin also and lately its been dry.I dont think it has to deal with age or anything.
Reply:I dont know wahat to tell. I am 15 and my face is always oily but I never experienced such changes.
Reply:things like this happen, and there is never too late for this..... may be it is happening due to change in weather or due to that cream.....

it's never too late......
Reply:Yeh- It could be hormonal (new contraception/pill?)

It could be new wash powder on your pillow?

Lots of wind/hot weather lately?

New cat/perfume/man?

Keep thinking, you will resolve it and in teh mean time, buy new skincare products...

Good Luck
Reply:Skin types constantly change. It depends on various factors--weather, cosmetics used, diet. Probably you have changed one of these factors causing you to have changed skin type.
Reply:Its probably got something to do with your diet have you changed it in the last six months ....................

Are you proud of your natural skin tone?

Is there anyone out there who is not afraid to go out in the skin they were born with? I am very fair skinned, and I refuse to tan or use fake tanners. I wish others could be confident with themselves. It makes me frustrated when people burn there skin to a crisp or use bleaching creams. Is there anyone who feels this way, too?

Are you proud of your natural skin tone?
I'm very, very fair...and look cheesy with a fake tan, then when it fades I look cheesy and blotchy...so I quit.

I used to get teased about my skin when I was younger, and still do occasionally. Screw them. I'm not going to go outside and fry myself, or apply DHA every two days to please them.

When I go to the beach near my hometown, it's great. The sand is as white as my skin, but I go all out in a nice, rich-toned bikini. Sometimes I get comments or stares, but mostly I get smiles! I believe It really is all in how you carry yourself.

...And it's completely frustrating that most cannot accept their own skin tones, and seem to long after the same orangey Barbie look. Come on...everyone is beautiful in their own way, if only they would let themselves be!
Reply:Yeah.

Although I am lighter than the rest of my family. o.0
Reply:Yes, I am proud of my natural skin tone.

I'm lighter than everyone in my family and they always make fun of me for it but I don't really care.

:/
Reply:I am very very pale. I have black hair and blue eyes and I have skin the color of porcelain. People tease me because I am so pale, but I prefer it this way. I will never go to a fake bake or use sunless tanners because 2 people in my family have gotten skin cancer by tanning. It's not worth it, plus my husband loves my look as it is.
Reply:yep. i don't care if people fake tan, but i find it absurdly funny when the people end up orange, and think they look so great! lol!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:I'm proud of my natural skin tone! Why wouldn't you be?

Every skin tone is beautiful in it's own right.
Reply:Well I am black, and its nice I like it. I hate when I get darker though.

Skin help!!!?

i have really bad skin and im 14. well i already went to a doctor they gave me some cream but it doesnt help that much it only getts rid of a little pimples. and i have dry oliy skin and i have red scars how do i get rid of the scars? and how can i get glowy skin?

Skin help!!!?
Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and juices- your skin will start glowing.

For acne, you have to attack acne where it starts, with your diet. For me, diet was the cause and solution. Topical medications fight the symptoms. Start by eliminating trans fats and eating more fruits and vegetables. Once you start cleaning up the inside of your body, by eating properly, the outside of your body (your skin) will be get cleaned up too. I started a website to document my problem and solution.

http://www.fredstown.com/acne.html

You might find it helpful to read my story. Just remember to eat an all natural/organic diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from processed foods. Use mild, all natural cleansers and don't pick at your face. Get lots of sleep and enough water for your body weight. Remember, clean body = clean skin. While you're waiting for your skin to clear, remind yourself that acne is a challenge that you will overcome soon. Once you're rid of it, tell all your friends how you did it. That's what I'm doing. God Bless.
Reply:You cant get rid of scars this is way you should never ever pick. Wash your face a couple times of day, avoid chocolate, sweets etc, tie your hair back away from your face. Try a good face peel they have some at walmart.
Reply:try proactive its the best its 99.999% guaranteed to work
Reply:I had the same problem growing up, but I got rid of it by my junior year of High School by doing a list of things:

1. Wash your face twice a day, don't over wash it because it will dry you out more.

2. Try not to pop your pimples, but do get rid of the nasty ones

3. Avoid Chips, Chocolate, oily food as much as possible

4. Don't touch your face during school...just leave it alone.

5. Try not to worry about it too much...stress creates more zits!
Reply:Sounds like pretty normal teenage skin, although it could be acne

Try and make an appointment to see a dermatologist if you can, it might be pricey and the products will be too, but its so worth it.

These people are skin experts, they'll dianose exactly what the problem is (which is probably your hormones at your age) and they will recommend a skin care regime at home.

Other things you can do to help is not touching your face unless you have washed your hands, you transfer all the dirt off your hands onto your face otherwise, also make sure you use a good quality cleanser, preferably one with tea tree or green tea and wash your pillowcase regualrly, all the oils and dirt from your face gets transfered onto your pillow, and you wouldnt want to sleep on that would you?!

Good luck!
Reply:honestly there is not cure, i had the slightest case of acne and i wanted to go to a dermatologist and i did and nothin worked, its all bull, umm you will grow out of it i never get a zit anymore lol i lied only one or two very small ones when im getong my period and they are gone within two days without picking at them, the scars will fade over time, just wahs your face twice daily once at night once in the mornign with a gentle cleanser stay away from benzoyle peroxide its makes your skin more oily, use witch hazel instead stay away from comcealers and foundations they will clog your pores and cause more pimples, just let yourself grow out of it naturally, i know its hard i cried many times over the same situtaion, and now i dont have any, just dont let it get to you, i know it difficult, anddont over do it dont pick dont use extra strength formulas they dont work been there done that, they irritate teh pimples.

well good luck
Reply:I agree with the person who said Proactiv, that stuff really does work - now go beg your parents http://www.proactiv.com/

They have stuff for scars too but I have never tried it, and don't forget to exfoliate
Reply:Try not touching your face with your hands. This will help cut back alot of dirt and oils to your face. Keep up with hand washing, this way if you do touch your face your hands won't have as much to pass on.

Drink alot of water. Water is great for cleaning body of impurites.

Products that are good vary from each individual. Before purchasing full-size try samples or travel-size. This way you don't get stuck with product unused.

Don't follow trends for products they all tend to run the same base. Pricey products don't work any better than ol' cheapo.
Reply:I would make a promise to yourself to wash your face twice a day. Before you wash your face tonight take a warm, wet clean wash cloth to your face - and (micro a few seconds) and apply.

repeat - wash your face with a pure and natural soap.

You need to apply toner (witch hazel) and let it dry and your acne medicine - (apply vitamin e to your acne from the pills only on the red scars)

Exfoliate twice a week - and an acne mask or a pure and natural mask - once a week - in time your face should turn around.

I suggest Arbonne clear advantage and also the Intelligence line to people 14-29 they make really pure, natural skin care and the acne line is very beneficial (my son uses it)

and our local pediatrician endorses it.

It's not cheap (not any more then pro activ) -

Good luck, drink water, eat well rounded meals and don't pick your acne. If it's full of puss draw the puss out with the wet, very warm wash cloth -

:O)
Reply:there is no way to get rid of scars but for better skin use face masks like mud masks or avacado cream with the white of an egg NOT YELLOW mix until creamy

apply to your skin until hard

Reply:TOP 5 TIPS FOR OILY SKIN:

~cleanse only twice a day. More often will trigger that panic response.

~If shine still slips through, blotting paper is great for mopping up excess oil.

~make sure all your products are oil-free.

~cut down on fast-foo. No, grease doesn't cause grease, but studies show iodine in fast food can contribute blemishes on oily skin.

~If you get painful red pimples, a little lavender oil dabbed on the skin will help reduce inflammation in minutes. In emergencies, white heads can be dried with toothpaste. That will proboly help with your picking problem.

MAKE YOUR FACE MASK:

Strawberries have a great astringent properties and will help cleanse oily skin without irratation. For an easy face mask, blend together the following ingrediants:

1/2 tsp lemon juice

1 egg white

1 tsp honey

1/2 cup of strawberries

Leave the mask on cleansed skin for 10 min. and rinse off.

TOP 5 TIPS FOR DRY SKIN:

~ cleanse your skin only once, at the end of the day. This will remove dirt and grime but will prevent further drying. In the morning, a splash of water and some moisturizer is all you will need.

~Exfoliation is essential for dry skin. When choosing your facial scrub, avoid any made from seeds or salt. These can have sharp edges which may tear dry skin, increasing moistur loss.

~ never expose your skin to really hot water. It dries out parched skin.

~ Never dry skin completly. One of the best ways to hydrate skin is just to pat it with a towel after washing, then apply moisturizer to seal in that extra moisturizer.

~ increase your intake of oily fish or take a supplement of essential fatty acids. One of the main telltale signs of deficiancy of these essential nutrients is dry flaking skin.

MAKE YOUR FACE MASK:

Honey and avacadoes are particulary rich in moisturizing properties. For the perfect skin food. Mash together the following ingrediants:

1/2 avacado

1/4 cup honey

All the ingrediants and items can be found in Target and/or Bath %26amp; Body Works.

Body shop cream?

i bought vitamin E body cream from the body shop and the woman said it was suitable for all skin types.i have really sensitive skin but normally its ok with vitamin E.however i put it on and the next day my face was completely swollen.has this happened to anyone else or is it just me?

Body shop cream?
You're alergic.

Wash your face with soap-free soap if you know what I mean.

"Pears" Is a good soap-free brand. Wash your face with that.

Hope this helps hun.

Reply:sort of, I used some on my face and it made my eyelids sore and very dry and I too have very sensitive skin, I find the body butter or Hemp works best
Reply:You're allergic..chuck it in the bin babe!
Reply:Probably cos it has loads of other chemicals in that your skin had a reaction to. Everyone thinks body shop is natural and nice. But its got the same ingredients as all the others, because it was sold to a commercial company! Sensitive skins stay away! :|

Try a lotion/cream that has hardly any ingredients in. Less to be allergic to :) Or you could try aqueous cream or emollient cream and add you own ingredients and scents e.g. vitamin e

Can neurons pick up substances delivered through the skin via percutaneous absorption?

i'm wondering if the contents in topical creams that we apply on our skin can be picked up by neurons then sent to the brain?

Can neurons pick up substances delivered through the skin via percutaneous absorption?
Not really because nerve impulses are due to ions moving across cell membranes not chemicals traveling up nerves.

Some drugs can be absorbed through skin and block these nerve impulses. An example of this would be local anesthetic creams containing lignocaine. Lignocaine blocks the movement of sodium ions across the nerve membranes and blocks the nerve signal.

Any drugs that reach the brain from absorption through the skin would have to get there in the blood stream.

Cream??????

Hey guys. I need some help finding a certain cream for my eyelids. I know this might sound weird. But I have very sensitive skin and i need to find something with no fragrance that will reduce the flakes from my upper eyelids and roof of my eyes (take away dry skin).

If you guys could tell me the brand/name and where to find it that'd be great. THANK YOU!!!!

Love,

Mary

Cream??????
Use Cetaphil cleanser daily and cetaphil cream for regular moisturizing. Vaseline or Eucerine at bedtime. You can find cetaphil and eucerine in most stores. They are a little more expensive but you don't need much so they last a long time. I won't go a day without either of these. They don't contain any perfumes and have been recommended by every dermatologist I have ever had. Aquafor is also really good I use it on my children.
Reply:First, make sure to cleanse your face good with some mild soap(ivory) and water, but use a washcloth so you can wipe your eyelids good. Next, use baby lotion. That is hypo-allergenic and you can find the one labeled "fragrance-free). I hope this works for you.

What is a face/skin illuminator? How do u use it?

Is it like a foundation? A cream? I have heard that it gives a glow to the skin when added with make up.What brand sells it and do u get this in india?

What is a face/skin illuminator? How do u use it?
it's powder as far as i'm aware...yes...it gives you like a summer glow and a refreshed look. it brightens up your skin during the drap winter months. i've seen info-mercials....on the HSN. =)
Reply:Skin illuminators come in powder, cream, mouse, etc. L'Oreal, Revlon, Neutrogena, and all those brands make them, it's like make up with tiny particles that reflect light.
Reply:the previous person gave you a great answer that illuminators come in different forms from many different brands. it's my favorite type of make up because it makes you look youthful, dewy, glowing and not shiny or dull (with matte make up). I'm always on the hunt for a great illuminator =) good luck!
Reply:I use Magic Potion from Prescriptives. I use it under my foundation. It brightens the face and gives a hint of a glow.

My skin is going crazy!?

My facial skin is going crazy!

I began having lots of acne-like, or pimple like "irritations" all over my face.

They are pretty intense on my forehead and sides of the cheeks.

They are not exactly pimples, because I am 26 years old. They are rather irritations or the fats re-surfacing from my chronic constipation problem.

I have visited two different dermotologists and they all said, "... there is nothing I can do.. just apply this cream where ever goes out of controll..."

So screw the doctors. Now, it is time to turn to the natural methods.

Do you recommend any natural ways to fight the surface of the pimple-likes? Any diets? Any natural creams or "washing face with milk"?

The worst fear I have is those irritations being left on my facial skin permanently as they become scars. How do I prevent forming scars?

Can you give me any tips on getting my facial skin back to the soft, acne-free, handsome state?

Any tips/advices will be appreciated.

My skin is going crazy!?
Hi

I tried some of these home based remedies and they did work for me ,this link has a lot of information and forums to discuss issues pertaining to skin, hair and weight problems so here goes,

http://www.wellnesstalk.org/3_25_0.html....

Good luck
Reply:So, it used to clear and clean and all of a sudden it isn't?

Sounds like you may have gotten into something you're allergic to.

Changed soaps lately? Body soap, laundry soap, shampoo, cream rinse? Anything like that?

Are you on any meds for the chronic constipation that you could be allergic to?

Have you changed shower curtains? Maybe you need to since bacteria can build up on them if they aren't scrubbed once in a while, or maybe you're allergic to the new one?

And a dermatologist couldn't help? That's really weird.

Make an appointment with your regular doc and see if he can help.

Do the 'bumps' come to heads like a pimple? If they do, you may have adult acne and there's plenty of OTC for that. Any Mart would carry them.

Maybe talk to a pharmacist and see what he says.
Reply:well i have practiced doing facials. Do to a solon and try to get a facial that's for acne. Do that one a week, and if that doesn't work then try proactive!
Reply:Start washing your face three times a day, do not touch your face with your hands, and keep your hair out of your face and forehead. The key is to keep from spreading oil around on your face. Try Nutrogena products, or better yet, try Proacive, it has worked for a few of my friends.
Reply:I would go to a health food store and ask there. Or try Pro- active (worked for me)

What are you eating? do you have a balanced diet?

Do you drink plenty of water?

I suggest starting from the inside out. And use a very gentle cleanser.
Reply:Watch what you eat and do not pop them do not touch your face at all. Use rubbing alchol and no harsh soaps. I would recommend a regular bar soap.
Reply:Try this..I swear by it. Put a few uncoated aspirin in the palm of your hand. Disolve them with a few drops of water. Apply the paste (it will be slightly gritty) to your face and let sit for a few minutes until dry and turns to powder. Brush off the powder and rinse your face.

I also made an astringent by putting a few aspirin in a small bottle with some distilled water and apply with a cotton ball.

A few days of this and your face will return to normal.
Reply:I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/... that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.
Reply:I feel really bad for you.. the thing that is working for me is jojoba oil yes a oil honest it is awesome look it up on ask.com tons of resources "jojoba oil and acne" ! and i've heard dairy products have alot to do with acne try it take them out or really slow down on them i'm gonna do it to to see if it helps!! look that up to hope it helps!!!

I am an indian and I have dark-brownish skin know how to make it lighter?

I wanna make my skin lighter by 1-2 shades. Trust me it isn't a lot just to a moderate extent. Do you know any house-hold products (remedies) like lemon juice, olives, or tomato juice that will make my skin lighter to a moderate extent or creams. Please when answering list the product the amount of time it takes to work and how often I have to put it on if u don't then I can't pick you as the best answer. Also please don't mention Call Micheal Jackson because I am asking only aksing for a little bit color change to like medium-brownish not like yellow or white. I repeat I don't want yellow or white skin just medium-brownish. Also you might be wondering why I wan't a better skin color. In india it is considered that if you have a dark skin color you are poor because you spend most of your time working outdoors and also everyone makes fun of me even my friends So please answer right

Is there anything to help severe allergic reaction to hair removal cream?

I have really sensitive skin and for some reason stupidly used Sally Hansen's Hair Removal cream. I'm having a severe allergic reaction, it itches and hurts and my (white) skin is now almost purple. I've taken some Prednisone that i got last time i had a really bad reaction to poison ivy since this is so similar, but it's old and not doing any good. i also tried aloe but it's not any better. i cant go to the doctor because i dont have insurance.

Does anyone have a suggestion? Antihistamines? Even something natural like putting some kind of food on the skin??

Is there anything to help severe allergic reaction to hair removal cream?
OK some people have suggested that you put lotions and Vaseline on your legs. Please take my advice and don't the reason why is because Vaseline and lotions are like putting a thermal blanket over your skin particularly Vaseline it does not allow your skin to breath which is what your skin needs. You more then likely have a chemical burn from the product. When people think of burns they generally think of blisters and contacting a source of heat which is not always the case. You need to take a shower to make sure that you get all of the product off of your legs and allow nature to take its course. If they don't get better in a few days or get worse I hate to say it but you might have to visit the doctor.
Reply:basically all you can do it ride it out. stay away from lotion, but use vaseline to hydrate the skin. if it gets worse, then go to the doc. my legs did that too and i just slapped a whole bunch of vaseline on over night and in the morning they weren't nearly as bad.
Reply:Go to WebMD now and look it up.

I would recommend flushing your skin with a LOT of water.

Get in the bathroom now and start.

Good luck.
Reply:Try washing it good with mild soaps and then rinse with warm and run over with cold water

cold water should really help ya.

Rub some olive oil or any type of oil on skin
Reply:Benedryl! They have the tablets and the lotion. That's the only thing that helps my bad allergic reations.
Reply:I have heard about someone who had an allergic reaction to Nair and they called the hotline and they told them to use a cold compress or a frozen bag of veggies on it until the swelling goes down. I don't really know what else you could besides call their hotline and see what they suggest. ?

2.try to use ice packs it helps to decrease the allergic reaction

3.try to use lotions

well thats it....thank you =)

Skin problem..?
I read a very interesting article in Women's Health magazine. Here are some suggestions right from the magazine that you could try. This is for those with sensitive skin

Face Cleanser-Eucerine Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

Body Cleanser- Adidas for women Soothing Body Wash

Day Moisturizer- Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45

Night Moisturizer- CeraVe Moisturizing Cream

Body Lotion- Palmer's Organic Body Balm

Moisturizing Mist-Evian Mineral Water Spray

You might be interested in picking up the magazine. It is the May 2007 issue of Women's Health. Good Luck!!!
Reply:Try Mary Kay products. It works.
Reply:My favorite pimple-fighting product is Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Wash. I love it...makes my face squeaky clean!
Reply:there is actually no need to use creams if you change your diet! cut out milk products and you wont get sports at all! I know thats hard so otherwise you can try clean and clear acne spot cream (I dont have acne but use it anyway and its great!) for moisturiser use aqueous cream (ask for it at the pharmacy - its behind the counter) its just a cream with hardly and stuff in it so wont hurt your skin and its a great moisturiser - you can even use it to shave legs etc with
Reply:Try using Cetaphil products such as gentle skin cleanser or daily facial cleanser it's fragrance free and non comedogenic. You might want to try their moisturizer as well with spf 15.

What cream should i use for insect crawls or bites?

While i was sleeping, some creepy crawler walked over my skin i guess, for i can see marks like drawing with thick pencil. Affected areas on skin reddened, swollen, itch as such n burn when touched. Can someone suggest some sorta cream that can work on this?

What cream should i use for insect crawls or bites?
either try Hydrocortisone or Benadryl Cream. It will help with the itching and swelling.

Can u tell whether your face (skin) is oily or not?

i was just wondering because i notice that alot of the times my face seems like its kinda greasy and oily and kinda shiny b4 i like put my acne cream stuff on then it gets drier inwhich it looks alot better! if this is true would a astrigent like sea breaze be a good method for drieng my face and clearing my acne if i consistently use it? also ive heard alot of people say that sea breeze makes your skin redundantly dry..if this is true should i use like a cream over it? if so what kind

Can u tell whether your face (skin) is oily or not?
If in the description of your skin you used the terms oily and greasy... its a safe assumption that yes... you have oily skin!! If you have questions about mixing anytype of medication... including acme creams and astringents, best bet is to talk to a dermatologist. Sometimes combining medications can make issues worse instead of better.

Should I put more cream?

I've been in the sun and my skin is slightly burnt and stinging. I've already covered it with some cream to hydrate it. But it was more than 2 hours ago and now my skin seems to be dry, although I touch it and it is not. What should I do?

Should I put more cream?
If you got burned then you want to keep putting cream every few hours at least until you heal. I got burned a few days ago and have been putting aloe veral lotion on, and it's helped a lot.
Reply:Use an aloe gel. It will hydrate your skin and stop the stinging.
Reply:if it FEELS dry, then i don't see why there would be a problem if you put some more on.
Reply:Try Petroleum jelly. This could help moisturize. If that is sunburned, then you have to wait for it to heal naturally (besides it is just two hours ago). Don't be bothered too much. Skin heals easily. Hope this helps. ;)

Anyone know the side effects of fucidin h cream?

i was given it for a bad skin and blood infection on my arm... heard it's steroid cream, so slightly worried, can it do me any harm?

Anyone know the side effects of fucidin h cream?
Yes, fucidin h contains hydrocortisone and fusidic acid. The hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid....not a powerful one. But, since it is a corticosteriod, a little goes a long way so always apply it sparingly and thinly.

Side effects include:

rash

skin irritation

folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles)

increased hair growth at usage site

contact dermatitis

change in pigmentation at usage site

Please note that not everyone gets side effects! It should not cause you any harm as long as you use it as directed and only for the issue for which it was prescribed for (usually a skin disorder complicated with a bacterial infection). Don't take it upon yourself to use it for every skin issue (acne, rashes, itching, etc) that you develop. It is not right for every skin problem.

OWCHH! facial hair removing cream!?

ok i used some on my upper lip and between my eyebrows and i think i left it for too long parts of my skin are red and skin is peeling off! it ABSOLUTELY KILLS especially when i try and put cream on it. it hasnt even got rid of the hair. lol.

help please!?

OWCHH! facial hair removing cream!?
I had exactly the same experience when I was a teenager, so I know how you feel! Being half italian and quite dark skinned with dark hair, I had lots of wispy hair on my upper lip which made me really self conscious, so I tried to remove it with some facial hair cream. As soon as I put it on, it felt 'tingly' but as i didnt know better, I just thought that was how it was, and left it. I had to take a week off school as my face was so raw and gross!

Use calamine lotion for a few days to soothe your skin, dont even think of appying any astringents or medicated facial cleaners as it will sting and make it redder! Also, lots of vaseline/petroleum jelly will speed up the healing and make it feel less painful.

In future, if you decide to use cream again, make sure your skin is cool and dry, as any extra heat could make your skin very sensitive, and if you even feel the smallest tingle, gently remove the cream and rinse with cold water straight away!

Dont ever rub or scrape the cream off your face as the skin is very delicate, I used to use a soft wash cloth.veeerrry gently!

I did this every week for years until I realised that using tweezers to pluck the few hairs I had was safer, less messy, and less likely to leave my face red raw afterwards!
Reply:Nothing to do except wait a while. It will stop hurting soon - try cool water with bicarb of soda in it to take some of the sting away.

Oh - and don't use hair removing cream again!
Reply:I'd definitely not use that product again, anywhere on my body. Use a mild soap and temped water to cleanse the product off entirely. You might try an aloe vera gel or some triple antibiotic cream to help it heal without an infection. If not clear up soon or get worse. Don't hesitate, see DR,
Reply:gonna have to tough it out...the skin has been damaged and it has a right to hurt. Take a couple of tissues and get them wet in cold water...lightly press this against the sore spots..it will take some of the sting out of it..carefully do this every few minutes..avoid creams..they can cause infection. The whole mess should start to repair itself by tomorrow...we live and learn don't we...all of us! ♥
Reply:*ADVICE* once it stops hurting make sure you moisturize your upper lip several times daily, preferably something with an SPF 15+ in it otherwise your upper lip will darken and it will look like you have a dark moustache even if you don't. This happened to me, I used the cream to remove some light un-noticable hair from my upper lip and I didn't moisturize and I ended up with a dark upper lip for months that was hard to camouflage with makeup!! Since you say yours hurts so bad your upper lip may feel like it has a scab on it tomorrow, it may not look like it but if you rub your finger across it it will feel rough..it's a burn from the chemicals so make sure you moisturize!! (between your eybrows should be fine tho)
Reply:You must have a reaction to it, you should have done a skin test on your arm or something before hand and left it for 48 hours..

Well now it's too late so I'd say put some Vaseline on it and if it doesn't get better by Monday go to the doc's x

Is Pond's Cold Cream safe to use every day (moisturizer, face)?

i have very, very dry facial skin and i'm trying to get it back to normal but Cold Cream and Petroleum Jelly are the only two products that work well for me so i'm curious if these 'emollients' are good to use every day for dry skin. any feedback would be very, very helpful. thank you.

Is Pond's Cold Cream safe to use every day (moisturizer, face)?
Girlfriend, you've gotten a lot of misleading advice on here...

You should know that cold creams are not moisturizers and are used to remove makeup, but, they don't thoroughly remove all the impurities and environmental aggressors at that. The best thing for removing makeup is to thoroughly cleanse your face followed by a toner, every morning and every night before bed. And last by not least apply a moisturizer (this protects your face from more dirt and oil). What is your current skin regime?

I personally used to use Ponds every night before bed and it's not the best, not even for it's purpose. I now know better. I use and love BeautiControl's M.R.P (maintenice, repair and protection) approch to skin care. My skin is super soft! BeautiControl's skin care is simply the best, just ask me why! And by the way BeautiControl has been around since 1981...

I recommend (from what I know about you so far) for your specific issues: Cell Block-C® P.M. Cell Protection (It's like a cold cream but, so much more) http://www.beautipage.com/Catalog/skin_d... %26amp; a really good moisturizer, like Skinlogics® Moisturizer (for those whose skin is acting in it's 20's). http://www.beautipage.com/Catalog/daily_...

BeautiControl has skin care for everyone's idividual skin needs. If you have acne-prone skin there's a skin care set for that and if you have very sensitive skin (your skin gets easily reddish) there is skin care set for sensitive skin too. To get even the best results out of your skin regimen, I highly recommend selecting the best BeautiControl skin care regimen set for your skin needs. E-mail me and I will help you!
Reply:ponds is a great cream and has been for alot of years. read more on skincare that will help you more on this site
Reply:I used to use it everyday... nothing bad came of it.
Reply:According to the instruction on the jar it is.
Reply:They're fine to use every day, so long as your skin is not sensitive to them. Personally, they make me break out. Best moisturizer I have ever found was LacHydrin (prescription).
Reply:It should be alright. Also do not use soap, use something like Cetaphil to retain moisture.
Reply:should be alright.

try clinique moiuster surge extra: thirsty skin relief. it works SO well. it'll keep your skin hydrated forever, is oil-free so it won't clog pores and isn't too heavy or thick.

it's not too expensive, it comes either a jar or bottle with a spray-head. the jar is meant for applying before make up and is $31 and lasts forever, while the bottle is meant for quick touch-ups when you're feeling too dry, and the bottle is $20. i would really suggest getting the jar, i take mine EVERYWHERE!

next time you're at the mall, stop at the clinique stand and tell them a friend reccommended you try it, and you want to try it for a few days before you buy it. they'll give you a sample to take home.

hope you like it!
Reply:ponds cream is good. but try dove soap daily its good
Reply:That is so old skool but my mother swears by it. I'd kill to have skin like hers. Ponds doesn't work for me but I guess you can give it a try.
Reply:My mother used it all her life(she is 80) and hardly has a wrinkle. I am 58 and have used since I was 14 or 15 and I have young looking skin. I think it is good to use. The best thing for removing makeup
Reply:That stuff would clog my pores. But I have very oily skin. I'm sure its safe for you since your skin is so dry.
Reply:I've used petroleum jelly before since i have such dry skin especially in the winter time and it works wonders, it's just hella icky and my face feels really heavy; so i stopped using it...Burt's Bees products have great face stuff too and have enjoyed using them
Reply:Forget petroleum jelly...that is made from some of the same chemicals as gasoline...petroleum!! Cold cream is made to remove makeup and other facial debris.

Go natural with Extra light virgin olive oil. Soothe it over your skin and rinse off excess. You can also use this as a bath/body oil.

Also not drinking enough fluids can make your skin dry.
Reply:Ponds cold cream is good...... avoid Petoleum Jelly..... y dont u try dove soap...... nivea moisturizing cream......
Reply:yes it is i would keep using it
Reply:it doesn't have any prescription?
Reply:u can use to some extent.Don't be adict
Reply:well when i had gotten back from spain durning winter my skin got so dry so wat my mom told me is to put butter on for 30 minutes and wash it in the shower.........
Reply:YEP! also try Oil of Olay
Reply:Im not sure about the Ponds, but try olive oil. The more natural the better. Dont use it in the day time, rub it into your face at night before u sleep ur skin should be soft and supple in no time at all.It also helps to prevent germs and bacteria. Its wonderful stuff, also if u wax, rub it in afterwards, it stops those little pimples or red spots from appearing the next day.
Reply:try this product and you will never use anything else again

Reply:Yes it is, get the night time one, it works while you're sleeping. It feels oilier than the day time. Ponds has been around for years.

Moisturizing cream?

Hi! i think i have natural skin condition on my face, not too dry yet not too oily, however i found this moisturizing cream from nivea and it says it contains jojoba oil. Will this component might make my skin look oily since it contains oil? or what does jojoba oil do to your skin? Your response is highly appreciated..Thank you!

Moisturizing cream?
if you have natural skin condition, nivea will be a little too oily for you. my face is a little dry and i used nivea once on my face and it made me break out. so i advice you to use ponds moisturizing cream, it works really well. :)
Reply:i don't know what that it is but my skin is like that and i use ponds dry skin cream and it works great, just a suggestion if the stuff you have doesn't end up working out.
Reply:jojoba oil:

Moisturizes dry or flaky skin Clears and minimizes pores while clearing skin of blemishes

Helps to prevent wrinkles and lines

Keeps skin soft, smooth and supple
Reply:Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:

* Mineral Oil, Paraffin, and Petrolatum – Petroleum products that coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatologic issues. Slows cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer. Disruptive of hormonal activity. By the way, when there’s an oil spill in the ocean, don’t they rush to clean it up – fast? Why put that stuff on your skin?

* Parabens – Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities – mimicking estrogen – and interfere with the body’s endocrine system.

* Phenol carbolic acid– Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.

* Propylene glycol – Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, and may inhibit skin cell growth or cause skin irritation.

* Acrylamide– Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.

* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)– Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived

* Toluene – Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.

* Dioxane– Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin.

Dioxane’s carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by “vacuum stripping”.

Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as “comes from coconut”.

IF SO, you should throw them away IMMEDIATELY and substitute virgin/extra virgin olive oil or a natural coconut oil to moisturize in the meantime until you find a better alternative!!! Tell ALL your friends and family!!!

Cream for my face?

I use olay moisturising cream with SPF 15 for my face. I use that every morning and that's it. My face complexion is brown and I am 25 yrs old.I don't know what brand is best for my complexion. I have normal skin type- not too oily and not too dry.I want to change the brand I am using and want to start new cream that I can put once in the morning and once in night. Do you have some suggestions on what brand and type of cream is suitable for day and for night? I want my face to look clean, glowing and radiant. Is there any cream for summer or winter specifically? Please help me out. Thanks

Cream for my face?
It took me a while to find a good face cream, but this is what I did; I went to Macy's and asked every cosmetic carrier for samples and tried them each of them out. (I have combination skin) some where to oily, some over dried my skin and others I just didn't like.

I ended up going with clinic and I used them for a while (about 10 years) I recently switched to neutrogina moisturizer since I have been getting a couple of zits. They have a night time cream too.

Good luck
Reply:My friends and I use Hope in a Jar by Philosophy. (and we range in age from 27-41). We all have different types of skin. Mine is normal, with no breakouts, etc. and I love this stuff. The Philosophy counter will give you samples to try. The big jar is around $25, but you do not need a lot and it lasts a couple of months. I use a little under my make-up in the morning, and then some more at night after I wash my face.

The only thing is that it does not have SPF.
Reply:The best cream I have found is called SiloeVera and is a mixture of Aloe Vera and Silver. Many people do not know that Silver is a great and natural anti-bacterial agent. You can get some the web at the following link http://stores.notaquitter.com/StoreFront... or follow the web address below. I am sure when you see the results you will stay with the product a long time. Good Luck
Reply:I have tried a variety of skin care products untill finally I came across Aqueous Cream BP. It is a product which does not contain chemicals and works by locking in moisture in your skin to keep it hydrated. Since I have started to use it it's changed my skin completely, it now feels soft, but not greasy or over moisturized.

You can even cleanse your face with Aqueous Cream BP as well by using cotton wool, with circle movements cleanse your face with a bit of water like you would with any cleanser. Then rinse well.

After rinsing you can apply some Aqeous Cream BP to moisturize and lock the moisture into your skin.

Just make sure you choose the Lanolin free version.

At first when you start using it, it will feel like it does not moisturize your face, but once the natural balance of moisture gets restored, you will realize that this cream is best for your skin, because other cleansers tends to dry out your skin or disturbs the moisture balance of your skin.

I know all of this doesn't seem to make sense, it didn't make sense to me at first, but finally I find that it works wonders for my skin.
